I'm Willem Hattingh, the owner-operator behind BME Handyman & Renovation Services Perth. Based in Stoneville, I work across the Perth Hills and the wider Perth Metro area. I bring more than 20 years of building experience to every job. That runs from a single repair to a full mixed-scope property list.

When you call BME, you're not dealing with a call centre. There's no rotating crew of subcontractors either. You're dealing directly with me, the person doing the work.

My foundation is real building. I started out as a home builder in South Africa more than 20 years ago. There I completed over 50 new custom-built homes, plus countless renovations.

That's where my standard was set: doing the work properly, the first time. That kind of detail only comes from running jobs end to end for years. It's also where I learned how the small things make or break a job. The carpentry, finishes and small fixes are what decide whether the work looks right.

After establishing myself in residential building, I moved to Perth with my family. From there, I set out to broaden my experience on the commercial side. I joined Cockram Construction and worked on several substantial Perth projects. From homes and properties, to schools and hospitals. That commercial work added scale, process and site discipline. It built on a skill set already grounded in custom home building.

BME grew out of something I noticed along the way. Most property owners don't want a chain of separate tradies for one nagging list. They want one capable person who can see the whole picture. Someone who gives a clear quote and gets it sorted without the drama.

So I built an owner-led business to do exactly that. It bridges the gap between everyday handyman work and real small-construction capability.

Today, I personally handle a broad range of property work across Perth. That covers repairs, maintenance, carpentry, fencing and gates, and rental repairs. It also includes pre-sale touch-ups, furniture assembly and small renovations. I work for homeowners, landlords, property managers, agents, builders and small-business owners.
